When I think of the word "
spirit" what immediately pops in my mind.... honestly..... is a big cloud of smoke. Physically, my perception of the
spirit is
formless. It's free to do, be, and go whatever and where ever it wants. It can become nothing and it can become anything. Christians often use this term "the
spirit" when talking about God. Christians catch "the
spirit," feel "the
spirit," and experience "the
spirit." What in the world does that mean?? Are they feeling a sense of
freedom? A feeling of being able to do and be anything? I'm not writing to give insight to the world of Christianity. I'm writing because I think thats all we want in life. The feeling of ultimate
freedom. And no this doesn't mean being able to do whatever I want to do. It's more about the inside emotion. Feeling free from worldly concerns like bills, the loss of a loved one, a bad break up, or hurting someone close to you.
Freedom from material things that unfortunately attach us to this sinking ship we call Earth. Just
Freedom. I've discovered that being free from concern can get confused with being
emotionless. So how does one balance? It's called LETTING GO!! Stuff happens and as humans we do this weird thing called feeling. We get sad and
angry and
depressed and
nervous and
happy and
anxious sometimes all at the same time unfortunately, but it's important that we don't hold on to the bad, the stuff that makes us
dense on the inside. Be
free from it! And
live! Letting go isn't easy though. It's as hard as pushing a two ton boulder to the other side of the room. Try to do it by yourself and you'll never make it unless your name is Superman. People, believe it or not, as mean as they can be sometimes, are here to help each other finish the race. I bet if you tried to push a 2 ton boulder with 5 people you'll make a lot more progress than you would by yourself. Let someone help you be
free. Let someone help you let go. And when someone asks you "Well, are you a
spiritual person?" You can say, "Mmmhmm i sure try to be." .......oh and don't forget to smile :-)
